India’s TCS to Acquire Porsche’s MHP IT Consulting Unit in Major AI Mobility Deal

Published on 8/24/2026

Tata Consultancy Services will acquire Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary MHP, while entering a five-year strategic partnership to support Porsche’s AI, digital and software-defined mobility goals.

Mumbai, India / Stuttgart, Germany - India’s Tata Consultancy Services, or TCS, has signed an agreement to acquire MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH, Porsche’s Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary, in a major technology deal tied to artificial intelligence and the future of mobility.

Porsche and TCS announced the agreement on August 24, 2026. The transaction remains subject to regulatory and competition approvals and is expected to close in the coming months.

Reuters reported the enterprise value of the deal at 320 million euros, or about $373 million. The official company announcements did not emphasize the purchase price, but both companies described the acquisition as part of a broader strategic partnership.

As part of the arrangement, TCS will establish a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche. The center is expected to help scale artificial intelligence across Porsche’s manufacturing, engineering, operations and customer experience functions.

The acquisition also comes with a five-year strategic deal under which Porsche, TCS and MHP will work together on AI-driven digital transformation, next-generation automotive technology and software-defined mobility platforms.

MHP is headquartered in Ludwigsburg, near Stuttgart, and employs more than 4,500 people worldwide. The company has worked for more than 30 years in automotive and industrial consulting, with expertise in business transformation, SAP, manufacturing digitization, artificial intelligence, cyber security and connected mobility.

Porsche said the sale supports its strategy to focus more sharply on its core sports car business while continuing to work with MHP as a long-term technology partner. After the acquisition, MHP is expected to keep its brand and continue operating as an independent consultancy within TCS.

For TCS, the deal strengthens its position in Germany and the European automotive sector, one of the world’s most important markets for engineering, manufacturing and industrial technology. It also aligns with TCS’s ambition to expand its AI-led technology services business.

TCS CEO and Managing Director K. Krithivasan said the partnership brings together TCS’s capabilities in AI, engineering, technology and business transformation with MHP’s automotive consulting expertise.

Porsche CEO Dr. Michael Leiters said the transaction allows Porsche to focus on its core business while gaining a strategic technology partner to help improve innovation, efficiency and competitiveness in an increasingly software-driven auto industry.

The deal reflects a broader shift in the global auto sector. Automakers are investing heavily in artificial intelligence, connected vehicles, digital manufacturing and software-defined platforms. Technology service providers such as TCS are increasingly becoming key partners in that transformation.

For India’s technology industry, the acquisition is another example of Indian IT companies expanding from traditional outsourcing into higher-value consulting, AI, engineering and industry-specific transformation work.
